About Kaew Capital
A Reading Room for Financial Clarity
We are an independent educational facilitator — not a product seller, not an advisory firm. Our work is to create space for adults to think carefully about money.

How Kaew Capital Came to Be
Kaew Capital was founded in Bangkok in 2019 by a small group of educators and former financial professionals who had grown quietly dissatisfied with how financial education was typically delivered to adults in Thailand. Most programmes they encountered were either designed to sell a product, or pitched at an audience assumed to know very little — two conditions that did not serve the adults they had in mind.
The adults they had in mind were people at or approaching forty — people who had been managing a household budget for more than a decade, who had seen interest rates rise and fall, who had watched property prices move in ways that did not match the textbook models, and who had accumulated a private store of financial experience that nobody around them had ever thought to ask about or build upon.
The name Kaew — meaning glass or gem in Thai — was chosen deliberately. A gemstone does not change its nature; it reveals it slowly, under the right conditions and the right light. The founders believed that financial self-knowledge worked in much the same way: not something inserted from outside, but something drawn out carefully through reading, reflection, and honest conversation.
The reading-room format was chosen because it imposed a useful discipline. It required materials — books, articles, published data — that could be examined together. It required a facilitator rather than a lecturer. And it kept groups small enough that everyone present could be heard.
Since the first programme ran in early 2020, Kaew Capital has maintained a deliberately unhurried pace of growth. We do not advertise aggressively, we do not expand beyond what our facilitator can give full attention to, and we do not accept corporate commissions that would compromise the independence of the reading-room environment.
What We Stand For
Mission and Values
Clarity Over Complexity
We work to make financial ideas genuinely comprehensible — not simplified to the point of distortion, but explained with the care they deserve.
Independence
Kaew Capital has no commercial relationships with financial product providers. Our programmes exist to educate, not to generate referrals or commissions.
Patience
We do not operate on urgency. Understanding takes time, and our programmes are structured to allow participants to sit with ideas before drawing conclusions.
The Facilitators
The People Behind the Reading Room
Pimchanok Thongdee

Richard Wattanaporn
Programme Facilitator
Richard brings fifteen years of experience in adult education and a background in economics. He leads The Cost of Living Reading workshop and co-facilitates the Slow Reading Programme.
Nareerat Srisuk

Nareerat manages participant enquiries, schedules, and printed materials. She is the first point of contact for anyone considering a programme and ensures that logistics never overshadow the reading.
Our Standards
How We Maintain the Quality of Our Work
Academically Grounded Materials
All programme reading lists are reviewed annually against current scholarship. We do not include texts that make claims beyond the available evidence.
Facilitator Qualifications
Both facilitators hold postgraduate qualifications in economics, behavioural science, or adult education, and maintain continuing professional development each year.
Privacy and Discretion
Participant details and personal disclosures made during sessions are treated with strict confidentiality. No information is shared with third parties.
No Commercial Interests
Kaew Capital receives no referral fees, commissions, or sponsored content from any financial institution, fund manager, or product provider.
Participant Feedback Process
A written feedback form is given to each participant at the end of every programme. Responses inform revisions to content and delivery each cycle.
Printed Materials Review
Companion guides and reference cards are revised before each new cohort. Outdated data — particularly economic figures — is updated each time.
Financial Education in Bangkok for Adults Who Have Already Lived a Little
There is a particular kind of financial confusion that arrives not from ignorance but from experience. A person at forty has usually managed a salary, negotiated a loan, dealt with an inheritance question, or watched a pension fund perform in a way nobody explained adequately. They are not a blank slate. They are someone who has absorbed a set of practical habits about money that may — or may not — serve them well for the decades ahead.
Kaew Capital was designed with this person in mind. The programmes do not begin from zero. They begin from where the participants are — with their existing experience as the raw material for structured, facilitated reflection. The academic literature on behavioural finance, household economics, and financial decision-making is introduced not as a corrective but as a set of useful lenses.
Our reading room at Sukhumvit Soi 23 is a small, private space. We keep it that way on purpose. The conversations that happen in a room of six people are different from those in a room of sixty, and the former are the ones that lead somewhere worth going.
Would a Conversation Help?
